persistent isolated right atrial standstill associated with left atrial tachycardia
introduction atrial standstill is a rare condition, characterized by absence of atrial electrical and mechanical activity evident in surface electrocardiography echocardiography, or fluoroscopy, which is associated with unresponsiveness of atria to maximal output electrical stimulation. this condition can be present with thromboembolic complication, low cardiac output, and sometimes palpitation...
متن کاملIncessant Atrial Tachycardia and a Cerebral Tumor
A 78-year-old woman with no history of heart disease or any other pathological process was seen in the outpatient clinic for a routine check-up. Cardiac arrhythmia was detected at this visit and she was referred to our center. The patient was completely asymptomatic and the physical examination was unremarkable. The only evaluable cardiologic feature was a relatively rapid and irregular pulse r...
متن کامل[Incessant atrial tachycardia and a cerebral tumor].
We report the case of an asymptomatic 78-year-old woman in whom incessant atrial tachycardia refractory to many pharmacological treatments appeared. Months after the appearance of atrial tachycardia, clinical neurological symptoms of a cerebral cystic tumor appeared. Treatment of the tumor resolved the rhythm disorder.
متن کاملSuccessful cryoablation of an incessant atrial tachycardia arising from the right atrial appendage.
The right atrial appendage can be the origin of focal atrial tachycardias. Their ablation can be challenging owing to the complexity of the appendage anatomy. To our knowledge, we describe the first successful solid tip cryoablation of a focal tachycardia within the right atrial appendage in a patient presenting with tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy.
